BILOXI, Miss.(January 23, 2008) — The Mississippi Casino Operators Association and
BNP Media Gaming Group are pleased to announce the 15th annual Southern Gaming Summit, which will be held May 7-8, 2008, at the
Mississippi Coast Coliseum & Convention Center here.
It is the largest gaming trade show held outside of Las Vegas, and provides an unmatched local voice for the industry.
The Summit has taken on new meaning in the post-Katrina era, as the Gulf Coast gaming industry
has roared back stronger than ever, with elaborate new resorts and more on the way.
“We were amazed at the reception the Summit received last year on its return to Biloxi,” said
Beverly Martin, executive director of the Mississippi Casino Operators Association. “Thousands of participants got a first-hand look at the
new development that has taken place in the region, and benefited from an excellent conference program. This year’s Summit should be even better.”
The exceptional educational program includes a general session on building a destination and two
dedicated conference tracks that return after their successful debut last year.
One is a gaming law program developed in partnership with the International Masters of Gaming Law,
a trade association of gaming attorneys, regulators and executives. Sessions include labor unionization and regulatory issues and challenges.
The other is Slot Manager Institute, sponsored by Slot Manager magazine, which features four sessions
including an update on server-based gaming, a look at the math behind successful slot operations, a review of slot marketing and bonusing trends, and
the always-popular Hot Slots session.
Additional conference sessions include such topics as Class II gaming, business intelligence
and analytics, game protection, the view from Wall Street and the political outlook in the South.
Plenty of networking opportunities are also available, not only on the exhibit floor but
through golf tournaments and the Taste of the South reception.
In all, the Summit’s unique mix of education, networking and southern hospitality make it a must-attend
event for anyone doing business in or interested in developing business in the region. As a result, exhibit space is already 90 percent sold out. Sponsorships and
advertising opportunities are also available to reach this dynamic audience; contact Lesley Grashow at grashowl@bnpmedia.com for more information.
